Ash Wednesday - School Mass

School Mass is scheduled for Wednesday March 2nd, 2022 at 9:00am as we celebrate Ash Wednesday and the beginning of the Lenten Season. 

Knights United Meeting March

Mark your calendar for our next Knights United Meeting. Thursday March 3rd at 9:00am in the Forcucci Faith Formation Center (Lower Church).

School Closed

School will be closed on Friday March 18, 2022. Faculty will be at a Professional Development day.

Mask Policy Update

Please note that beginning February 28, 2022 masks will be optional. This is a change in date from the last email. Please notify your homeroom teacher and Mrs. Williamson if you wish your child(ren) to wear a mask.

As a reminder: masks must be worn on vans and busses.

Parent/Teacher Conferences and early dismissal days

Today Wednesday 2/16, tomorrow Thursday 2/17 and Friday 2/18 are early dismissal days at 12:45 for Parent/Teacher conferences. As a reminder: there is NO aftercare on early dismissal days.

Simon Foundation Collection Delivery

Thank you to our SMS families for your contributions to the Simon Foundation during Catholic Schools Week. Donations were successfully dropped off, thanks to a couple of our super SMS families. The foundation was so happy and grateful for our donations!

Parent/Teacher Conferences Signup**<-

The spring Parent/Teacher Conferences signup links for Grades PreK-5 are available now and will be open until Sunday 2/13/22. 

Depending on your teacher, conferences may be held in person or via Zoom. Please signup at your earliest convenience and contact your teacher if you have any questions. 

For middle school, Gr. 6-8, progress report cards will be posted after school on Friday 2/11/22. If after reviewing the Progress Report you would like to schedule a conference, please contact Mrs. Work: kwork@stmarysimsbury.eduk12.net.

Early Dismissal days

Next week, Wednesday 2/16, Thursday 2/17 and Friday 2/18 are early dismissal days at 12:45 for Parent/Teacher conferences. As a reminder: there is NO aftercare on early dismissal days. 

Instrumental Lessons Schedule Change

Please note: next week only, instrumental lessons will be held Wednesday and Thursday due to early dismissal days.

Wednesday 2/16/2022. Grades 5-8. 

Thursday 2/17/2022. Grade 4.

Please remind students to bring instruments the appropriate day.

Long Winter Weekend

School will be closed on Monday, 2/21/22 & Tuesday, 2/22/2 for our Long Winter Weekend.

Last Day of School

So far this year we've had 3 snow days and with it we have pushed the last day of school to Tuesday June 14, 2022. Please note, this date is tentative and it still could change.

Simon Foundation Collection

Thank you to everyone who sent in donations for the Simon Foundation!! Together we collected a little over $360 and lots of pounds of food supplies for the guests at the Simon Foundation.

Valentine's Cards Delivery

In the spirit of Valentine's Day, our artists in formation made some beautiful cards for our friends at the Eno Memorial Hall - Simsbury Senior Center. Today, Mrs. Williamson had the opportunity to personally deliver them.

Catholic Schools Week Success

The celebration of Catholic Schools Week 2022 was a huge success!

Many thanks to our volunteers, parents, pets and amazing students. We all had so much fun and created sweet memories.

Catholic Schools Week

Catholic Schools Weeks is in full blast!! We still have two more days of celebration!

Thursday 2/3. Sir Ted is Proud to be Preparing You for a Bright Future - Show us by dressing up in your future vocation! Careers chosen can be secular or non-secular but must represent a positive role model

Friday 2/4. Sir Ted says GO CRAZY and show your Love & Appreciation for Faculty & Staff on our 100th day of school! Crazy hair, hats, accessories, tie dye or neon all acceptable with gym uniform bottoms! Apply 100 items (feathers, coins, stickers, etc.) to your hat to mark the 100th day of school! *Donations due for the Simon Foundation may be made until Friday February 4th* 

*** As a storm system and cold front are forecasted for Thursday and Friday, we may have to reschedule activities for Friday, please keep an eye on Remind texts or emails ***

Sunday Mass 2/6

Due to inclement weather last week, we had to reschedule our Mass to kick off Catholic Schools Week. We will close our celebration of Catholic Schools Week with Mass at St. Mary's Church on Sunday 2/6/22 at 11:00am. We will have some students saying a few words, serving Mass and taking up the collection.

If students wish to wear their uniforms at any Mass (9:30am or 11:00am), they may do so. Any student whose parent states in a note or email that the child(ren) wore their uniform to church, will be allowed to participate in a special “spirit day” scheduled after Catholic Schools Week."

Simon Foundation Collection

Parent Teacher Conferences

Free Lacrosse Clinic

Uniform Exchange Program

 

Used Uniform Exchange is OPEN!  Everyone is reminded that our Used Uniform Exchange is a free service that provides families with a place to donated clean, gently used uniform items that have been outgrown or to obtain uniforms "new to you".  Click here for more information and to contact the Exchange's volunteer coordinator.
