Once a week, students in Mrs. Jehnings' First Grade Class  enjoy a Cosmic Yoga Adventure! It is yoga with storytelling. The students absolutely love this activity! Mrs. Jehnings loves it  because it incorporates all 3 modalities of learning...auditory, visual and kinesthetic. Last week, students  went on a Polar Bear adventure. It was soooo cool :)

Thanks to everyone who joined us for Family Lunch Day on 1/26/17!  It was great to see so many families enjoying lunch together.  Be sure to click on the Family Lunch Day tab at the top of the blog to see even more pictures from Family Lunch.

We also want to thank everyone who joined us at the 5pm Mass last Saturday evening and the pizza supper that followed.  Opportunities like these for community worship and relaxed socialization are the glue that holds our school family together.  Thank you for taking time out of your weekend to join us and celebrate our school and all Catholic schools!

Faculty & Staff are SO grateful for all that is being done for Teacher Appreciation Week!  So far this week, we have enjoyed an amazing "coffee break buffet" on Monday, a delicious "brown bag lunch" on Tuesday and this morning we received thoughtfully created gift bags with a coffee card, chocolate, book mark and pen.  Our sincere thanks to all for this special week and the generosity that has been displayed.

Looking ahead to our 2017-18 School Year - Do you have a child who will be eligible for Kindergarten in 2017-18 that is NOT attending our PreKindergarten?  If so, now is the time to complete an application form for next year's Kindergarten.  Click here for an application.  Please note - if your child attends our PreKindergarten is not necessary to reapply for Kindergarten.  We assume that all PreKindergarten students will attend our Kindergarten unless we are told otherwise.

Box Tops for Education - Our school is collecting Box Tops for Education again this year and we hope you've been clipping your Box Tops!  This is a painless way for our Home & School Association to raise money.  The next time we can submit Box Tops is at the end of February so we are requesting that all Box Tops be sent in no later than Friday, February 24th.  Your Box Tops can be sent into school and turned in to the homeroom or you can send them directly to Richard Kuziak, Kindness of Michael in Grade 6.  Any Box Tops that are saved after February 24th may be sent to school at your convenience or sent directly to Mr. Kuziak.  Thanks to all for clipping and saving those Box Tops and our special thanks to Mr. Kuziak for coordinating the Box Tops program for us!

Moms in Prayer -  In addition to prayer, the group will be reading and discussing The Blessing -Giving the Gift of Unconditional Love and Acceptance by John Trent and Gary Smalley, through the end of Chapter 9, at our next meeting on Wednesday, February 8th at 8:30am, in the lower church library. The book draws from Scripture with examples of how those in the Bible have historically blessed their children through meaningful touch, a spoken message, attaching a high value, picturing a special future, and an active commitment. Please contact Christine Sinopoli to borrow a copy of the book.
