News for the Week of 1/29/20

Many thanks to all that have worked so hard to make this week special so far!  Faculty and staff have enjoyed a delicious breakfast and lunch and there's great excitement each day for the gift card grab bag.  We are also grateful for the many generous donations to the Teacher Supply Bar that will take place tomorrow.  Students are enjoying the themes of each day (Yesterday's snowflake hunt was a huge success!) and today has been extra special with friends sharing the school day and the excitement of the egg drop!  We are looking forward to our Family Lunch tomorrow and hope to see lots of friends and family at lunch time!  Please plan to park in the north (playground) parking lot - the back entrance door will be available for you to enter.  Please come and sign in at the office before proceeding to parish center.

Thursday, 1/30/20,  is our Crazy Hat Day! Students may wear their craziest or favorite hat with the uniform of the day and also our annual Family Lunch.  Come & enjoy lunch with your favorite SMS student(s)! If you did not order a guest meal from our hot lunch program,  please plan to bring a brown bag or take out lunch.

Times for Family Lunch Day are:

11:00-11:35 PreKindergarten, Kindergarten, Grades 1 & 2

11:40-12:15 Grades 3, 4 & 5

12:20-12:50 Grades 6, 7 & 8

Friday, 1/31/20 - Show Your KNIGHT Pride! Students may wear their PE uniform, spirit wear, school team game jersey, school club shirt, etc. Show off that school pride!

One Final Bonus!

On the Nicest day of the week: Extra Recess!

Our first Catholic Book Fair features fun, faith-based books and is a great place to shop for sacrament gifts!  JClub magazines and order forms went home with your children last week. You can download an extra form as well.  Click here for order form.  All books are available to check out online and some samples will be on display during Family Lunch Day on Thursday, January 30th.

All purchases benefit our school.  Orders are due Friday, January 31st.  Thanks in advance for your support!

February Parent/Teacher Conferences -  Our February conferences will take place on Wednesday, 2/12/20 - Friday, 2/14/2020.  Each of these days will be a 12:45pm early dismissal with NO PreK Enrichment or Aftercare.  Click here to sign up for your conference(s) for PreKindergarten, Kindergarten - Grade 5.  The conference schedule for Middle School, Grades 6-8, will be available next week. If you do not sign up for a conference, none will be scheduled for you.  Please note that the Sign Up Geniuses for conferences will be locked as of midnight 2/9/20.  If you need to sign up for a conference after that or if you need to change the day/time you signed up for, you will need to call the school office.

As they finish their unit on the solar system, grade 5 is making posters of the life cycle of a star.

Have you challenged yourself to step out of your comfort zone and try something new this year?  CHOICE can help with that!  The school office stocks cards to Michaels and Walmart for crafting and scrapbooks supplies and Dicks and Target for athletic equipment and clothing.  You can also order cards from GL Scrip from other retailers including Cabelas, REI Co-op, LL Bean and many others.

Last Call for Father/Daughter Dance RSVP'S!  There's still time!  This is our last call for RSVP's for the Sweetheart Masquerade Ball on Saturday, February 8th.  Click here for your RSVP card and return it NLT this Friday, 1/31/20.
